Romania offers Moldova €100m in non-reimbursable assistance

Romania offers the Republic of Moldova €100 million in non-reimbursable assistance. The agreement on the implementation of the technical and financial assistance program was signed by the two Premiers in Chisinau today, after the joint meeting of the Governments of the two countries, IPN reports.

The document is designed to strengthen the cooperation relations between the two states by stepping up cooperation in such sectors as energy, transport and transport infrastructure, environmental protection and climate change, public works and infrastructure, small and medium-sized enterprises, independence of the media, public administration reform, internal affairs, health, education, culture and heritage, research, and tourism.

In the implementation of the agreement, Romania and the Republic of Moldova will together take the necessary measures to carry out projects that can contribute to: extending cooperation, developing the strategic partnership for European integration and Moldova’s connection to the European Union, promoting reforms in the European spirit and supporting Moldova’s European integration process; stimulating development, reducing economic and social disparities, building Moldova’s resilience to destabilizing factors.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Natalia Gavrilița, and the Prime Minister of Romania, Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă, also signed the Joint Statement of the two Governments on strengthening of economic and investment cooperation.
