Romania makes another donation of COVID-19 vaccines

Romania will donate another 100,000 Astra Zeneca vaccine doses to Moldova. Also, starting with this week, Romania will be able to monthly sell another 200,000 doses of the same vaccine to Moldova, the Prime Minister of Romania Florin Cîțu informed after the meeting of the Government in Bucharest, IPN reports.

“We are profoundly grateful to Romania for the limitless solidarity. This way, starting with this month, we will be able to purchase the necessary quantities of vaccine from the lots available in Romania, at the price negotiated by the European Union. I cordially thank President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Florin Cîțu, all the Romanians for the huge support offered in these times,” President Maia Sandu posted on Facebook.

She requested the Government of Moldova to launch the third stage of the vaccination campaign that covers the general population so that as many people as possible could be immunized during a short period of time. She urged everyone to continue obeying the protection measures and to get vaccinated so that the country could return to normality and the pandemic could be contained.

Earlier, Romania donated another over 200,000 doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine to Moldova.
