Romania has potential to contribute to privatization in Moldova, minister

Romania has potential to take part in the implementation of the privatization program in Moldova, Romanian Minister of Economy Varujan Vosganian said during his visit to Chisinau.

“I took note of the Moldovan Government’s projects concerning the structural reforms with satisfaction. We think that Romania can contribute to supporting them. Moreover, we can become involved in their implementation. I mean especially the privatization program,” said the Romanian official, who is the co-chairman of the Moldovan-Romanian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, IPN reports.

“Romania has potential to contribute to the privatization program of Moldova, either as regards portfolio investments and shareholdings sold through the Stock Exchange or as concerns strategic investors that can represent the Romanian capital or the foreign capital present in Romania,” stated Varujan Vosganian.

According to the Romanian minister, these aspects will be thoroughly discussed in a meeting that will take place later this year, most probably in November. It will involve officials in charge from the governments of the two states, representatives of trade chambers and the business sector.
