The Mateuți village kindergarten, in Rezina district, has been renovated with funds from Romania. The institution has undergone works worth over three million lei, of which 2.7 million were provided by the Romanian Government, and the rest were local contribution.
During the inauguration event, Romanian Ambassador to Chișinău Daniel Ioniță has repeated the constant support that Romania provides for Moldova. “The Mateuți kindergarten “Steluța” is one of the 845 preschool institutions in Moldova to benefit from funds given by Romania through the “Program for technical and financial assistance granted by the Romanian Government for preschool institutions in Moldova.” Through such projects, our wish is to bring European standards into the everyday lives of all of Moldova’s residents, regardless of ethnicity, religion or language. The citizens are the focus of our efforts, and our assistance programs target them as beneficiaries,” mentioned the dignitary, cited by a press release from the Embassy.
State secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research Angela Cutasevici, has thanked the Romanian Government for its constant support in providing good conditions for early education institutions, mentioning that all children have the right a quality education.
On this occasion, the mayor of Romania’s Valea Seacă commune and the mayor of Mateuți have signed an agreement to twin the two communities.
The Romanian Government has allotted 26 million euros for the renovation and equipping of kindergartens across Moldova. 845 kindergartens have benefited from these funds, through 940 projects managed by Moldova’s Social Investments Fund.
