Roman Mihaes sues CEC

Roman Mihaes sued the Central Election Commission (CEC) because this rejected his application to register him as a runner in the presidential elections. On a social networking site, he wrote that the CEC’s decision concerning him is illegal and groundless, IPN reports.

“No signature was declared false. No double signatures were identified in the lists I presented. The CEC applied another method. It rejected whole lists when counting the signatures for the reason that the procedures for compiling the lists were not respected. This way, the rights of 15,900 Moldovan citizens and my right to run were violated,” Roman Mihaes wrote in his message.

The CEC has registered 12 candidates who will compete in the October 30 presidential elections. Four applicants who submitted the required signatures to the CEC were not admitted to the electoral competition. These are Roman Mihaes, Vitalia Pavlichenko, Vasile Tarlev, and Ion Dron.
