Roma Calfa place third in Women's Champions League qualifying tournament

Roma Calfa have placed third in Group One of the Women's Champions League qualifying tournament. In the last match of the round, the Moldovan champions drew with Turkey's Gazi Universitesi, 3-3, Info-Prim Neo reports. Roma Calfa did great at the beginning of the match, obtaining a 2-0 lead by the 33rd minutes, thanks to Ludmila Ninicu and Liuba Dragomir. Their rivals however managed to reverse the situation by scoring thrice, with two goals scored by Didem Karagenc and another one by Baskaya. Yet Anatolie Atamanenco's disciples snatched one point just two minutes before the final whistle when Ludmila Ninicu scored the equalizer. In the first two mathces the Moldovans lost 0-6 and 0-4, but avoided the bottom place due do a better goal average. The winners of the group were Denmark's Brondby, the hosts of the tournament, who thus qualified to the next round. The Bulgarians NSA Sofia finished second.
