Rodica Guţu resigns, announces plans to change area of activity

Rodica Guţu vacated he post of chief of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau. The two deputy heads of the Division also left. The resignations tendered by the three were signed by Mayor General of Chisinau Ion Ceban on January 21, IPN reports.

Contacted by IPN for a comment, Rodica Guțu said that she does not want to comment on her resignation. She noted she could change her area of activity and could even leave the country. She is considering the possibility of going abroad with her family.

“I resigned of my own free will. I think time has come to change the area of activity. I worked intensely during a year and a half. I had a daily eight-hour work program and my family now also deserves my attention. It was seen what I did for the education system. The teaching staff and the community can also assess my work,” Rodica Guțu stated for IPN.

In a Facebook posting about Rodica Guțu, Ion Ceban said that she allowed many violations and schemes of interest during her term at the Division. On January 22, he presented Dorin Pavaloi, “a good specialist in the field” who will serve as one of the two deputy heads of the Division, to the Division’s staff.

Earlier this week, the mayor requested that Rodica Guțu should resign voluntarily.
