The Orhei Mayor’s Office said the works to repair and asphalt several areas in the towns, which lasted for several weeks, were completed.
Thus, there were extensively repaired two streets in the center of the town: Livezilor St that is 470 square meters in area, and on Orheiul Vechi St, which is 510 meters long. Besides the roadway, there were asphalted sidewalks and placed new curbstones.
There was also repaired the street Susleni, located in Lupoaica district, which is 120 meters long.
In the same district, a new sidewalk was built along B.P.Hasdeu St. It is 720 meters long. Mayor Ilan Shor took the decision to construct this sidewalk at the request of locals, who complained that it was very inconvenient to cross that area, through mud and dust. The problem worsened especially when it rained as the area turned into a real trap for pedestrians.
In Slobozia Doamnei district, there was asphalted the small square located on Alecu Russo St, which is 1,500 m2 in area, and the access road to Nursery No.2, which is 1,000 m2 in area. On November 21, when it was celebrated the Feast of Saint Archangels Michael and Gabriel, events dedicated to the feast day of the patron saint of Slobozia Doamnei were held on the repaired square.
Works were executed on a total area of over 10,000 m2.
Mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor, together with the head of Orhei district Tudor Golub, cut the ribbon to officially inaugurate the repaired areas. They were met with bread and flowers by townspeople, who said that they waited for years to have the local roads repaired.
Twenty-three streets have been repaired in Orhei since July. The rehabilitation of roads is one of the main objectives announced by Ilan Shor, who promised that all the streets in the town will be repaired by 2019.
