Roadmap was 72% carried out, governmental commission

The priority reform action roadmap for implementing the Association Agreement with the EU was 72% implemented and 23 more measures are to be carried out by the July 31 deadline. The progress made in putting into practice the national plan for implementing the EU – Moldova Association Agreement and the delays in this process were assessed by the governmental commission for European integration, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press office, the commission also discussed the civil society’s intermediate report on the implementation of the roadmap. It was noted that the report covers the period between March and June this year and its data mainly coincide with those provided by the state institutions, but many of the assessments are different. However, the commission members said the carried out analysis deserves attention and the responsible institutions should examine the situation and put things right where there are deficiencies indeed.

The intermediate monitoring report on the roadmap, compiled by the Association for Participatory Democracy, the Analytical Center “Expert-Grup” and the Legal Resources Center of Moldova, shows that the Government fully implemented less than 1/3 of the measures stioulated in the priority reform action roadmap for March – June 2016. Among the overdue measures and shortcomings are the reformation of the National Anticorruption Center, the investigation into the banking frauds and the failure to negotiate an advantages price for the supply of power with Ukraine.
