The farmers who took to the streets blocked the road to the Leușeni border crossing point, IPN reports.

“To the attention of carriers and travelers who intend to cross through the Leușeni-Albița customs post, in the context of the protests mounted by farmers, the access of vehicles to and from the Leușeni border customs post is blocked at this hour,” the Customs Service and the Border Police have warned.

Carriers and passengers are recommended to opt for available alternatives, such as the border crossing points Sculeni, Costești and Leova-Bumbăta (working hours 08:00-20:00).

At a press conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, said that they didn’t receive any demand from the protesting farmers. He also said that the Ministry is ready to have a dialogue with all the farmers.

The protesting farmers also blocked the Leușeni border crossing point on Monday. After the police insisted, the farmers withdrew their agricultural machines and unblocked the road to the customs post at midnight.
