Road Police organizes during one month „Safety belt – saving lives” operation
Road Police from Chisinau, as well as from the whole Moldova, organizes during September 25 – October 25, “Safety belt – saving lives” operation.
According to the inspector of the Road Security, Administrative Survailance and Public Relations Service, Ion Roscovanu, pursuant to the stipulations of the Administrative Code and of the Road circulation Regulations, using the safety belt is compulsory for drivers and passengers who seat on the front chairs, excepting the drivers performing reverse driving, instructors of driving schools with priority circulation regime while executing a work mission.
According to Roscovanu, the analysis performed by the specialized services of the Road Police shows that in about 85-90% of the road accidents, the safety belt saves the lives of those who use it.
The drivers who do not comply with requests of the Road circulation Regulations regarding the compulsory use of the safety belt risk to pay a fine of 0.5-1 minimum salary.
