Road Police given strict indications from Chisinau Mayor
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca advised the Road Police to check the documents of the drivers, without obliging them to step out of the cars – in order to avoid any possibility of bribery.
Dorin Chirtoaca stated at Monday’s City Hall meeting that “normally, the driver has to remain sat in the car with his hands on the wheel” when his papers are being checked.
The mayor requested the Road Police to respect these rules, stipulated by the current legislation. “Even if the policeman is going to place the offence on record, the driver has to remain sat in the car”, said the mayor.
The mayor requested the police to pay less attention to the radars and more to traffic mobility in downtown. Dorin Chirtoaca expressed discontent to the fact that vehicles continue to park on the roads, hindering the traffic on the first lane.
