A group of priests and faithful person will go on the Road of the Cross and Repentance around Chisinau on July 19 and 20. The column will set off from the City’s Gates. Contacted by IPN, priest Anatol Cibric said the Road of the Cross starts with the reading of the Akathist to the Holy Virgin in front of the Wonder-Working Icon of the Mother of God that was recently brought to Harbovats Monastery.

The priests and the faithful, blessed and accompanied by His Holiness Vladimir, Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova, will not suspend the journey at night. At 11am, they will make a stop at the Mother of God’s Birth Church in Ciocana district. At 3pm, the column will stop at the God’s Resurrection Church of Saint Lazarus Cemetery, at 9pm – at Saints Archangels Michael and Gavriil Church in Durlesti town, while at 12 midnight – at Saint Pious Parascheva Church near the Oncology Institute.

The Roads of the Cross will end at the God’s Birth Metropolitan Cathedral at 7.30 on July 20, with a thanking te-deum and the Saint Liturgy. The Road of the Cross and Repentance is organized every year. The Wonder-Working Icon of the Mother of God is considered the protector of Bessarabia.
