The toad marking works in the capital city are late. The local authorities say that owing to changes made to the legislation on tender contests, the works haven’t been yet started and the necessary marking materials haven’t been purchased.
“As far as I know, the amendment of the legislation on tender contests delays the purchase process and hampers somehow the provision of such services. The changes to the legislation are made not by the Chisinau City Hall. As these were made, we are waiting for the procedure to be launched, when the Public Procurement Agency gives the go-ahead,” Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca stated for IPN.
He noted that the road maintenance company “Exdrupo” tried to ensure a minimum of works before the Easter holidays. “We will make effort to continue such works based on the last year’s reserves,” said the mayor.
The municipality renews road markings two times a year – in spring and in autumn, at the start of the school year.
