The marking of crosswalks and other road signs in Chisinau will begin on April 26. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, deputy head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division Adrian Boldurescu said that a sum of 2.5 million lei has been allocated this year for road marking. It has not been yet decided how many tonnes of paint will be purchased. A tender contest will be held first to select the company that will carry out the marking works. Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca has told Info-Prim Neo that the marking works will begin when the temperatures rise to 10-15 degrees Celsius. According to him, there will be bought better paint than last year. Even so, the paint is off in about half a year. The thermoplastic markings that are more resistant are about 5-10 times dearer and the Chisinau administration cannot afford them. Last year the marking works in Chisinau cost 1.5 million lei.
