There is a long queue at the border crossing point in Varnita. Many of the Transnistrians who want to get to the territory controlled by the Moldovan constitutional authorities to vote are not allowed to cross for different reasons. Some of them go back before reaching the border crossing point, a Transnistrian resident who managed to come to Chisinau told Info-Prim Neo. Ion Manole, the head of the NGO Promo-Lex, confirmed that the road in Varnita and Cocieri is barred even if there are Moldovan peacekeeping posts in Cocieri and in Corjova, where access to the polling place was blocked. “What do these posts do and how do they ensure stability in the area?” Ion Manole wondered. This morning, several unidentified persons accompanied by Transnistrian militiamen barred access to polling place No. 5 in Corjova and do not allow the locals to vote.
