A sum of 80 million lei will be transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure for increasing the Road Fund. A bill to this effect was approved by the Government on July 10, IPN reports.

The legislative initiative was put forward by the head of the parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance Veaceslav Ionita and other MPs. Deputy Minister of Finance Victor Barbaneagra said this money comes from the additional sums collected as road taxes.

Under other amendments, the budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction will be augmented by 50 million lei for covering the costs for repairing and equipping the Parliament Building. The money comes from extra issues of state securities.
