The 787.9 million lei contained in the road fund for 2011 will be redistributed by increasing the allocations for road maintenance from 466.5 million to 546.07million lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Boris Gherasim explained that such a measure was needed as the road maintenance vehicles cost more than initially planned. The Ministry of Transport was entrusted with the task of repairing 73 road sections along which students are taken to district schools, following the implementation of the education reform.
