A young man was killed and another one seriously injured in a traffic accident in Chisinau last night. Dana Andronic, PR specialist of the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened on Stefan cel Mare Blvd. not far from the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemiteanu”. A 20-year-old man lost control of his Volkswagen-Golf and crashed it violently into a utility pole. The driver received severe traumas, while the passenger of the same age died on the spot. Several hours earlier, a pedestrian aged 76 going through Giurgilesti village, Cahul, was fatally struck by a Renault-Megan driven by a 35-year-old man. A Ford-Mondeo car hit a man aged 48 in a crosswalk on Cantemir Blvd in Chisinau. The man was rushed to the Emergency Hospital in a serious condition. Two persons were killed and five injured in six accidents on the national roads yesterday and last night. Another 43 accidents caused no victims. The traffic police fined six inebriated drivers, 28 drivers traveling unbuckled and 49 speeding motorists.
