The Association of Investigative Reporting and Editorial Security in Moldova, better known as RISE Moldova, in partnership with RISE Project Romania and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), announced the project “Rebooting quality journalism in Moldova”, IPN reports.
According to a press release of RISE Moldova, the project will create a platform to discuss the main problems faced by Moldovan journalists in order to recall and reset the standards of quality journalism. The platform will gather representatives of mass media institutions alongside activists, bloggers and IT experts.
RISE Moldova will organize a series of trainings and workshops for a group of journalists from both Romanian and Russian language media, selected through a public contest. The participants will be encouraged to conduct 24 investigations, 5 of which have to be cross-border investigations. For each one that gets published, the journalists will receive a fee of 300-600 dollars.
RISE Moldova will also offer small grants for journalists who apply with projects concerning the adjustment to international quality standards.
The project “Rebooting quality journalism in Moldova” is implemented with the financial support of the US Department of State's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.
