The Riscani district court prohibited the leader of the Anti-Mafia Movement Sergiu Mocanu from staging protests in front of Codru Hotel in Chisinau. The ban was imposed after Mocanu announced that they intend to mount a series of protests in front of the property of First Deputy Speaker Vladimir Plahotniuc, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Judge Gheorghe Gorun earlier ruled in favor of Plahotniuc and sequestrated my property, obliging me to pay damages. The given judge takes all kinds of decisions aimed at protecting Vladimir Plahotniuc,” Sergiu Mocanu told a news conference. The lawsuit was filed by the managers of Codru Hotel. They asked banning the protests. “The court decision does not clearly say what I cannot do. If is prohibits me from staging protests, I inform that they are organized by the People’s Action Movement Party, which I head. Maybe they ban me from attending these protests. I cannot understand,” said Sergiu Mocanu. He also said he is aware of the risks he takes, but the protest set to take place near Codru Hotel on January 30, at 12 noon, will take place. “We know that there will be police to disperse the crowd. I realize that I may be arrested. This is possible in our country,” said Mocanu. The People’s Action Movement panned to mount protests in front of the company “Ipteh”, which, according to Sergiu Mocanu, belongs to Prime Minister Vlad Filat, and in front of other property of Vlad Plahotniuc, including Nobil Club Hotel and the Business Global Center. “They attacked the state institutions and we will attack their property,” Sergiu Mocanu said in a news conference earlier.
