State of public health emergency extended until September 30

The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission decided to extend the state of public health emergency until September 30. It also decided to remove the restriction on the holding of wedding parties and christening ceremonies, IPN reports.

According to the Commission’s decision, the given events can be held with a number of fewer than 50 persons and by strictly obeying the anti-epidemic measures. Meetings can also be held with fewer than 50 persons.

The Commission agreed that the persons who return to Moldova from countries that are in the green zone, but cross states classed as of the red zone will fill out the epidemiological form and will self-isolate for 14 days. The parents or legal representatives who will accompany students who travel for study purposes will not self-isolate. The ban on leaving Moldova imposed on persons who self-isolate was lifted.

Given that the electoral period is to start, the Commission fixed a mechanism of cooperation between local electoral bodies and territorial public health bodies. The Commission members requested to avoid establishing polling stations inside education institution.

In the evening of September 11, the authorities published the list of countries for which the self-isolation regime is mandatory. The persons who come to Moldova from countries classed as states with an increased risk of transmission of COVID-19 will be obliged to fill out the epidemiological form and  to self-isolate for 14 days. The list is updated once in 14 days on Friday and takes effect next Monday.
