Revival Party about NAC’s actions: Pressure is exerted on us following criticism level at government

Representatives of the Revival Party said the actions taken by the National Anticorruption Center (NAC), as a result of which the husband of MP Irina Lozovan was arrested, represent an attack and pressure exerted following the leveling of criticism at the government. They call on their supporters not to allow to be intimidated and to come to antigovernment protests in autumn, IPN reports.

Former Socialist MP Vasile Bolea, currently an unaffiliated MP and a member of the Revival Party, in a press briefing said that the party during the last few months has been active on the political arena, leveling criticism at the ruling party’s actions.

According to him, during the searches conducted last week, members of the party “were held hostage” for about eight hours, being prevented from leaving the party’s office. They filed complaints about this to the Prosecutor’s Office. These actions and the seizure of goods were aimed at hindering them from fulfilling their activities. “We are subject to an unprecedented attack and to pressure both by the ruling party and by its allies,” said Vasile Bolea.

Irina Lozovan noted that she cannot comment much on this case. She and a number of mates left the Party of Socialists in March as they didn’t want to remain an obedient parliamentary opposition. A number of Socialist members from Ocnița district acted similarly. She waited for a reaction on the part of former mates from the PSRM, but didn’t expect such dirty acts.

Former Socialist Alexandr Nesterovschi called on the people to struggle together with them as the representatives of the Revival Party will fight against the dictatorial regime. “We will take to the streets to struggle! All the opposition parties, we invite you to come to the Square in autumn to fight against the regime. In a peaceful way, we will do our best for the PAS to leave,” stated the MP.

Last week, the NAC officers carried out searches at offices of the Revival Party within a case of corruption and money laundering. Later, a district councilor from Ocnița was caught in the act of passing on US$30,000 bribe to the mayor of Ocnița town for defecting from the Party of Socialists to the Revival Party.
