Revenues of mandatory health insurance funds 11% up

The National Health Insurance Company in 2019 collected revenues of over 7.6 billion lei into the mandatory health insurance funds, an increase of 11% or almost 759 million lei on 2018, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Company said the percentage contributions from salaries and other recompenses in the amount of over 4.6 billion lei were the main source of revenues. These were followed by the transfers from the state budget, of over 2.8 billion lei, the mandatory health insurance premiums in fixed amount to the value of 123 million lei and other incomes totaling about 55 million lei.

The expenditure of the mandatory health insurance funds last year was of almost 7.5 billion lei, an increase of over 775 million lei or 11.6% on 2018. The transfers from the main funds for the services provided by the contracted health facilities came to over 7.3 billion lei, by over 747 million lei or 11.3% more than in 2018.

The law on the mandatory health insurance funds for 2020 provides for revenues and an expenditure of over 8.3 billion lei.
