Revaca woman struck by car when jaywalking

A 55-year-old woman was violently hit by a car when she was jaywalking. Doctor’s attempts to save her failed.
Traffic Police Division press officer Antonina Talpa has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened on Muncesti St in Chisinau in the evening of December 6.
The victim was from Revaca village, which is a suburban settlement of Chisinau municipality. She was going home from work. The vehicle that struck her is registered in Anenii Noi. The 34-year-old driver told the police that he was unable to avoid the collision. An investigation is under way.
According to police statistics, practically each third road accident that happened so far this year involved pedestrians. More than 100 persons died in them, while almost 800 suffered injuries.
