Reunion of the Republic of Moldova – European Union cooperation subcommittee will take place in Brussels
A delegation of the Republic of Moldova will take part on October 9 in the Reunion of the Republic of Moldova – European Union “Commerce and Investment” cooperation subcommittee, that will take place in Brussels.
The Moldovan delegation is formed from representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Customs Service, State Agency of Intellectual Property, Material Reserves Agency, Public Acquisitions and Material Aid of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
During the meeting the implementation process of the corresponding chapters from the RM – EU Action Plan will be discussed. A priority goal for the Moldovan side is to obtain the Autonomous Commercial Preferences (ACP). European experts will present results of the Evaluation Mission of the Commission Directorate-General dealing with Taxation and the Customs Union (DG TAXUD) of the European Committee, which took place in Chisinau on 19-20 September.
Starting on July 1 2006, according to the EU requirements, the Moldovan authorities have started new certificates of origin issuance system for exports in the EU, and the Customs Service took over the corresponding attributions of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Moldovan and European experts will also approach problems of the bilateral and regional commerce, the investment climate, concurrency and sanitary fields, intellectual property rights, including regulatory aspects, standards, technical regulation and conformation, the right to found societies, financial services and public acquisitions.
On October 10, informal consultations in the agricultural field will take place in Brussels between RM and the European Committee representatives. The topics discussed during the consultancy are the elaboration by the Moldovan side of residual plan in order to fulfill EU requirements of the export terms in the European Union of products of animal origin, elaboration and promotion of sanitary norms, as well as the technical regulation in the alimentary industry field, in accordance with the EU requirements and standards, the creation of national laboratories in the sanitary field etc.
