Dorin Chirtoaca calls for the exclusion of Ion Ceban from the race

Dorin Chirtoaca, the candidate of the Liberal Party for Mayor of Chisinau, submitted a notification to the Electoral Council of the Chisinau municipal electoral constituency, demanding the exclusion of the Socialist Party candidate, Ion Ceban.

According to the notification, Ion Ceban allegedly used administrative resources, renting for the whole campaign period the panoramic room on the top floor of the Chisinau City Museum, also known as the Water Tower, an institution that is subordinated to the Culture Department of Chisinau City Hall. Dorin Chirtoaca argues that this has limited the visitors' access to the museum. Similarly, other electoral competitors are disadvantaged. The PL leader specifies that, according to the law, the electoral competitors cannot use public goods and assets during the campaign.

Also, Dorin Chirtoaca questions the transparency of the financial resources used by Ion Ceban in his election campaign, owing to the fact that the latter appears frequently on social networks, on advertising billboards, at Chisinau City Hall events and in advertising spots, activities that require enormous financial resources.

Dumitru Țîra launched his election campaign: "Smile, it's free. Vote, it's important! "

Dumitru Țîra, the candidate of the European People's Party for the head of the capital, launched his election campaign with the slogan: "Smile, it's free. Vote, it's important!”. According to the candidate, his main concern, if he becomes mayor, will be the people, because they are "the highest value of Chisinau municipality and of the whole country". "The city of Chisinau is about people, about people no one listens to, beautiful, different, special people, who are always ignored. We have to build a beautiful city, a city to be proud of, to enjoy,” said the candidate.

If he becomes mayor, Dumitru Țîra promises that bureaucracy and corruption will be "dismissed and sanctioned". Professionals will be encouraged, and those who steal will be fired and held accountable. "I will not lie to you telling you that I will build roads or aqueducts. I am neither a road worker nor an engineer. I studied law and economics. I know that the roads must be of good quality, the roads must be sustainable, with sidewalks, bicycle lanes, retroreflective markings and lighting in risk areas for pedestrians. And I also know that the builder must guarantee with his money for the work that he does, "said the candidate.

Dumitru Țîra says that October 20 is the day when Chisinau people will decide in what kind of city they will live: "In the city of broken electoral promises or in one where everyone's idea and initiative will matter." Dumitru Țîra wants style concepts for streets and neighbourhoods, neat parks and leisure places, and suburbs should be among the main priorities of the city.

"Smiling must be the natural state of the city," said Dumitru Țîra.

Ion Ceban wants to build a ring road of over 62 kilometres

The candidate of the Socialist Party for the position of mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, intends to build a ring road with a length of over 62 kilometres. It is to pass through 13 localities in the suburb of the capital.

At a press conference, Ion Ceban has said that the lack of a ring road generates waste of time and fuel, pollutes the air and creates traffic congestion. In his opinion, the existence of a ring road would contribute not only to the economic growth, but also to the increased comfort of citizens.

The candidate estimates a budget of $ 200 million for the project - public money and external funds. "The feasibility study and the completion of the design would take a year and a half. The optimistic scenario of the project implementation is from three to five years, and the pessimistic one from - five to seven”, said Ion Ceban.

"We come to the City Hall with a very clear vision in every area" the candidate stressed.

Ilie Rotaru opts for the establishment of a parliamentary commission to investigate the activity of prosecutors and judges in the last 10-15 years concerning the mass fabrication of criminal cases, and the rendering of sentences on order. The lawyer says that he will plead for the liquidation of the Superior Council of Prosecutors and will do his best to reorganize the National Anticorruption Centre into the Criminal Investigation Department, within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

He says he will work to pass a law that will allow the Government, at the proposal of ministries, to set up state-owned enterprises. He will require the establishment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Organization, but also the restoration of industrial enterprises that existed in Moldova in 1990. Another commitment is to do everything possible to adopt a law based on which citizens who work or worked abroad could contract interest-free loans for the business plans they want to develop. He also wants to introduce a progressive and differentiated taxation of revenues of individuals and legal entities and their properties.
