Retirement age for women up from July 1

As from July 1, the standard retirement age for providing the old age pension for women is 60 years and six months, while the full contributory period is 33 years and six months.

For men, the retirement age remained unchanged at 63 years, while the contributory period at 34 years. The given conditions were set down on July 1, 2019.

Under the provisions of the law, women who gave birth and educated five and more children up to the age of eight benefit from a reduction of three years in the standard retirement age – to 57 years and six months as from July 1, 2023.

The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) noted that the old age pension is set for life since the retirement conditions are met, if the application and the necessary documents are submitted within 90 days of this data. If this time limit is not respected, the pension is provided since the last document is presented. The period of examination is 60 days of the submission of all the necessary documents.

Given the full contributory period stipulated for women from July 1, 2023, when an early pension for long career is set, the women must confirm a contributory period of 36 years and six months. In the case of men, the contributory period remains unchanged at 39 years.

Applications for old age pensions can be submitted online by those who hold an electronic/mobile signature, accessing the CNAS’s website.

Until June 30, 2023, the retirement age for women was 60 years. Under the legislation, the age will be annually raised by six months on July 1, up to 63 years, so as to equal the retirement age of men.
