Moldova wants to relaunch the activity of sectoral working groups in all fields in order to identify concrete solutions to existing problems. The subject was discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian in a teleconference with Vitali Ignatiev, Tiraspol’s chief negotiator.
The first working meeting of the chief negotiators was attended by representatives of the mediators and observers in the 5+2 negotiation format. The participants welcomed the resumption of the meetings in this format, expressing their readiness to maintain a constructive dialogue in order to boost the negotiation process and set priorities for the immediate period. The chief negotiators exchanged views on the organization of the next round of the 5+2 talks.
“I reiterated the readiness of the Moldovan side to attend this meeting and address the most current issues, including a review of the level of implementation of the commitments agreed upon in the Berlin+ package,” Oleg Serebrian was quoted in a press release as saying.
A topic of discussion was also the need for thematic consultations with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, who will visit Moldova in the near future.
