Results of Union Caravan

The public association “Honor, Dignity and Homeland” (ODIP) summed up the results of the Union Caravan within which young unionists went from home to home to inform the people about the Union cause.

In a news conference at IPN, ODIP co-chairwomen Corina Bezer said that activities to promote the Union in June were staged only in the municipality of Chisinau. In July, the campaign was extended and the over 60 volunteers visited 12 districts.

“Daily, from morning till evening, we visited by three-four communities and discussed with hundreds or even thousands of people. We collected tens of thousands of signatures in support of the Union. These will be processed during the next few months,” stated Corina Bezer.

According to the young woman, Ialoveni is the most unionist district, while Costesti village of Ialoveni district and Mereni village of Anenii Noi district are the communities where nine in ten persons said they are for the Union. They met with the greatest skepticism in Floresti district. Most of those who signed in favor of the Union are younger than 45.

ODIP co-chairman Vlad Biletski said the caravan is a proof that the activities of the unionists are not reduced to events in the capital city only and the volunteers in the period managed to bring the tricolor to the streets of many communities and to share the Free Romanian Newspaper. Unionist’ activities will continue. On December 1, a tricolor that is 1 km long will be spread along the main artery of Chisinau.

ODIP member Otilia Dascal noted that this campaign was very useful and resonant. The future activities will be aimed at strengthening the Union message not only in Chisinau, but also in the other parts of the country.

Member Renata Uratu said she gained unforgettable experience during the caravan. “I saw the reality in the villages of Bessarabia. I had the occasion of speaking to residents of different villages and reached the conclusion that the people are disappointed. The people do not know what to believe in, what to struggle for and who to vote for. We told them that the Union is the only solution for having a better life and a decent future,” she stated.

The public association “Honor, Dignity and Homeland” is an apolitical, nonprofit organization whose goal is to educate a generation of active young people by promoting the national values and the values of the Romanian culture.
