Over 2,000 people from Risipeni and Bocsa villages of Falesti district have now access to tap water, while for 11,500 people from Telenesti district the sewerage system was rehabilitated and a wastewater treatment station was built. The first results of the regional development projects for 2017-2020, financed from the National Regional Development Fund, were presented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment on December 4, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Minister Vasile Batca said that 39 regional development projects were initiated in 2017 and about 186 million lei was allocated from the National Regional Development Fund for implementing these. The first seven projects of the 39 that are to be carried out by 2020 have been completed this year. “Projects are being implemented in a number of sectors, such as water supply and sewerage, regional and local road infrastructure, business support infrastructure and improvement of tourist attractiveness. Works were carried out within all the initiated projects,” stated the minister.
The projects finished this year are: Creative-Innovative Center PRO Cariera of Otaci; Manuc-Bey Mansion; road that bypasses Hancesti town; wastewater treatment station in Telenesti town; three tourist attractions of Ialoveni district; a portion of the regional road in Cahul town, and water main of Risipeni and Bocsa villages of Falesti district.
“The projects under implementation envision that the living conditions for about 3,000 people from 89 communities of the country will be improved when the works are completed,” said the secretary of state at the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Dorin Andros.
In 2017-2020, there will be implemented 11 projects to provide water and sewerage, seven projects to build regional and local infrastructure and a solid waste management project, seven projects to ensure energy efficiency in public buildings, eight projects to create business support infrastructure and five projects to increase attractiveness of tourist destinations.
