In the elections to the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), the Party “National Alternative Movement” gained 33.10% of the vote. The Party of Action and Solidarity ranked second with 32.88% of the ballot, IPN reports, quoting the preliminary data presented by the Central Election Commission.

The Party of Socialists finished third with 9.64% of the ballot. The Socialists are followed by the Party of Communists with 4.46% of the poll, the Revival Party with 2.64%, and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” – 2.55%. The other parties obtained less than 2% of the poll.

The council elections are held in one round only.

Under the Electoral Code, the seats of councilor to parties and electoral blocs are distributed by successively dividing the number of valid votes cast for each party and bloc by 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. up to the digit that corresponds to the number of seats set for the given electoral constituency.

The Chisinau Municipal Council consists of 51 councilors.
