Restructuring plan at Termocom will continue to be implemented

The joint stock company Termocom was included in the list of debtors of vital importance for the economy given that it is the main supplier of heat in the municipality of Chisinau. This fact will enable to prolong the period of implementing the restructuring plan at the company until this yearend, IPN reports, quoting a Government decision.

The plan, which was presented by the Ministry of Economy, envisions the merger of Termocom and the thermoelectric plants CET-1 and CET-2, the reorganization of the company’s management and the substantial diminution of its running costs.

Asked at what stage the restructuring plan is now, Vadim Ceban, division head at the Ministry of Economy, said the works to assess the assets of the three enterprises were completed. The results are to be validated by the consultancy and auditing company PricewaterHouseCoopers, which also coordinates the other aspects regarding the merger of the three enterprises.

Within the second stage of the plan, the debts of over 2.5 billion lei accumulated by Termocom are to be dealt with.

Under an earlier Government decision, the plan was to be implemented by May 31, 2013.
