More than 1 000 consumers with debts for heat that exceed 2 500 lei cannot obtain passports, while about 30 persons have been banned from leaving the country. The restrictions were imposed by bailiffs under debt collection decisions. According to the heat supplier SA Termocom, other cases are being examined in court and hundreds of indebted persons face restrictive measures, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, SA Termocom says the bans were imposed in accordance with the Court Decision Implementation Code of Moldova. The restrictive measures include sequestration of assets and property, and restrictions on performing certain activities and leaving the country for a period of at most six months. The consumers are rehabilitated immediately after they pay the debts. SA Termocom urges the consumers to pay the debts in the immediate future so as to enjoy all the rights guaranteed by the legislation of Moldova.
