Restored Declaration of Independence taken to NBM Treasury
Moldova's Declaration of Independence that was restored on April 26, 2010 reached the Treasury of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) on January 19, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Parliament's press service.
The document was handed over to the central bank governor Dorin Dragutanu.
The original of the Declaration of Independence burned during the April 2009 protests, when the Presidential Office and the Parliament Building were devastated.
The document was restored in a festive sitting of the legislative body, when the members of the 12th legislature put again their signatures to the Declaration. The signatures of the deceased MPs were scanned.
On December 3, 2010 the Parliament's Standing Bureau decided that the Declaration of Independence will be kept at the NBM Treasury.
