The members of the first Parliament put their signatures in a special sitting on April 26. Those who cannot move signed the restored document at home. The signatures of the dead MPs were scanned. The head of the Parliament's Apparatus Adrian Fetescu said the Standing Bureau is to decide where to keep the Declaration. Earlier, Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said the Parliament was to order a safe for storing the document. Pantelei Sandulachi said an identical copy of the Declaration of Independence and the pen used to put the signatures will be sent to the National Museum of Archeology and History for storage on the eve of the Independence Day marked on August 27. Mihai Ghimpu accepted the proposal of the Association “Parliament 90” to post the document in the hall of the Parliament's building that is now under reconstruction.
