The restoration of the good relations with the Russian Federation remains a priority for the current Government, two members of the Cabinet said in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integrating Andrei Galbur said that Chisinau must behave ‘pragmatically and wisely’ towards the Kremlin. “We must make our partners from Moscow to realize that Moldova’s road is like a two-lane street. They must understand our country’s aspirations for European integration,” he stated.
The minister noted that there is a plan of immediate action concerning Russia. “I already had contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and we agreed to have a meeting in Moscow on April 4. Next week, the secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Grigory Karasin is to come to Chisinau for new rounds of interministerial consultations,” said Andrei Galbur.
Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac said the restoration of the good relations with Russia is among the priorities. “We behaved appropriately with Russia and I hope they will answer in the same way. Restoring the commercial relations with Russia is a priority. I will soon leave for Moscow to discuss all the aspects of the economic relations with my counterpart,” he stated.
