The first rest home for elderly people of culture called “Soul of artist” will be built in Moldova. It will be erected on the territory of “Saint Andrew” Monastery in Durlesti town of Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Ministry of Culture, a number of national artists gave a charity concert to collect money for building the rest home, on the initiative of composer Maria Stoianov. The composer said that they usually organize festivals and write books for artists, but forget about them when they grow old as an elderly person is never convenient.

Minister of Culture Monica Babuc said that she visited many artists at home and saw how helpless they are. “Building a rest home is not an easy task in this period, but we will succeed if we understand that we can do this together,” stated the minster, who donated 10,000 lei on behalf of the Ministry of Culture.
