Residents of Falesti to drink water from the Prut

More than 18,000 inhabitants of Falesti district will be supplied with drinking water from the Prut River as a result of project to build a water supply system that is implemented by the North Regional Development Agency, IPN reports.

According to the Agency, the project envisions the creation of conditions for subsequently connecting 69 more communities of Falesti district and five communities of Ungheni and Glodeni districts to the water supply system.

The value of the project was set at 35.4 million lei as a result of a public tender contest. The money was requested from the National Regional Development Fund. The National Council for Regional Developments Coordination approved the allocation of 7 million lei for performing the works planned for this year. The project will be completed in 36 months.

In a number of villages of Falesti, Ungheni and Glodeni district, there are no efficient drinking water supply and sewerage systems and most of the residents use water from wells.
