Residents of Dobrogea village warn to block Revaca-Cainari railway

About 2,500 inhabitants of Dobrogea village, within Sangera town, Chisinau municipality, make threats to block Cainari-Revaca railway starting 15 August, if the gas line works will not be restarted. The mayor of Sangera, Ghenadie Iurco, says that a letter in this respect was submitted to the local mayoralty. According to Iurco, the inhabitants are dissatisfied with the fact that the gas line works are delayed for 4 years already, even if the deadline for opening the gas line was scheduled for 15 October 2005. Of those 10 streets, only 2 were connected to the gas pipe at the beginning of the year, Ghenadie Iurco noted. The majority of the inhabitants rebuilt their heating systems in their houses, adapting them to consume gas, thus they will not be able to heat their homes in the winter. More, after investing in heating systems, they do not have enough money to buy coal and wood. The mayor also mentions that people’s dissatisfaction is fed especially by the fact that the asphalted streets were damaged by the grooves dug for installing pipes and remained uncovered. Ghenadie Iurco highlighted that in order to finish the gas line installing works there are necessary only few weeks, but the company that has won the tender does not want to work, even if the mayoralty of Chisinau municipality has allocated money for this. Inhabitants of Dobrogea announced that they will block the railway on the ground that there is not way out.
