Residential consumers in Chisinau will pay 18.62 lei/m³ for water and sewerage

The services provided by "Apă-Canal Chișinău" grew more expensive. Residential consumers will pay 12.99 lei/m³ for water supply, by 2.2 lei/m³ more than before, and 5.63 lei/m³ for sewerage services, up from the current charge of 4.17 lei/m³, IPN reports.

The new charges were approved at Tuesday's meeting of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) and will enter into force on the date of publication of the decision in the Official Gazette.

Thus, residential consumers in Chisinau will pay 18.62 lei/m³ for water supply and sewerage, compared to 14.97 lei/m³ at present.

For non-household consumers, the charge for the sewerage and wastewater treatment service remains unchanged: 10.16 lei/m3

The charge for the supply of technological water will rise by 4.12 lei/m³ to 12.23 lei/m3.

The new charge for the production and transport of water for redistribution is 4.22 lei/m3, compared to the current charge of 3.41 lei/m³.

According to the NAER, the charges were raised in order to cover the real costs of the operator given the general increase in prices and to ensure the continuous and efficient functioning of the public water supply and sewerage system. The previous charges were approved in October 2023 and remained unchanged to date.
