A cat that got stuck in a sewer in Chisinau was rescued by firefighters on Thursday evening, after a child noticed the animal and alerted the intervention teams, IPN reports.

The incident occurred on Pășunilor St. A team of rescuers travelled to the scene, dismantled a part of the metal structure of the canal and freed the cat.

The operation was carried out carefully to avoid injuring the animal. Shortly after, it was taken out safely.

Subsequently, the cat was taken over by a person living in the vicinity, who offered to take care of it.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, firefighters rescued 72 animals in danger so far this year.
