The period for reregistering persons as unwaged was extended from three to six months for persons who lost this status for unfounded reasons. Parliament gave a final reading to a bill providing this, IPN reports.
Also, the jobless persons will be provided with health insurance only if they contributed to the state social insurance budget and while they will get unemployment benefit.
The procedure for striking the employed persons off the list if they do not fulfill the obligations was reviewed. If these do not present the report on steps taken to find a job during 30 days or refuse to fill a vacancy without having well-founded reasons, they could remain without the unemployment benefit.
Under the document, the employment possibilities for unemployed persons who didn’t find a job during the first three months of the registration with the National Employment Agency will be extended. These persons will be offered additional options of being employed in related professions and occupations with lower qualifications. Also, mobile teams will be constituted to go to localities to inform the population about the Agency’s services.
According to statistics, 35,000 persons were registered as unemployed in Moldova in 2022. 10% of them got unemployment benefit, while 5.4% are persons with disabilities.
