Requirements for tourists who intend to transit Romania to reach Bulgaria

The Moldovans who intend to travel to Bulgaria through Romania will have to present a number of documents, namely confirmation of the goal of their stay in Bulgaria, hotel reservation, health insurance, a negative COVID-19 test, in English, done at most 72 hours before entering Bulgaria and travel documents.

According to Moldova’s Embassy in Romania, the Romanian-Bulgarian state border crossing points Negru Vodă in Constanța County, Lipnița in Constanța County, Dobromir in Constanța County, Zimnicea in Teleorman County, Turnu Măgurele in Teleorman County and Bechet in Dolj County (except for freight traffic) remain temporarily, fully or partially suspended.

The Embassy recommends that the transit that will not exceed 36 hours should go through special corridors approved by the Romanian authorities for road transport: Leușeni, Albița, Tecuci, Focșani, Buzău, București, Giurgiu, Ruse. The Moldovan citizens can enter Bulgaria as of July 28 on condition that they present a negative test for COVID-19. The test results should be in English and the test should have been performed at most 72 hours before entering Bulgaria.
