By the end of the current school year, republican Olympiads will be held in 22 school subjects. The competitions are designed for 7th-12th graders who are winners of district/municipal/zonal stages of school Olympiads. The district/municipal/zonal Olympiads based on single tests will take place from February 3 to April 13, while the republican Olympiads and competitions will be held from February 16 to May 27, IPN reports.
In a meeting with representatives of local education divisions, National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation director Lilia Ivanov said that the correct and transparent organization of school Olympiads ensures equal conditions for demonstrating one’s knowledge for all the students who are interested in particular school subjects or fields. “It is our duty to give students space for creativity and inspiration. In 2024, we aim to promote excellence and stimulate the passion for learning among all talented students,” said the director.
In 2023, the national Olympiad teams won 52 awards, including six silver medals, 25 bronze medals, 18 honorable mentions, a 4th place in a team event and two special prizes in the science and engineering competition.
