Republican Party concerned about attempts to exert pressure before elections
The Republican Party (PR) is concerned about the recent political developments in Moldova, especially about certain actions that can be described, according to the party, as attempts to exercise pressure on the political opponents, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a communique, the Republican Party that is headed by former Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Stratan says the rhetoric and actions of the political players become more categorical and aggressive with the approaching of the parliamentary elections.
“This situation has a negative impact on Moldova's image abroad and arouses questions as to the maturity of the political class. In such circumstances, it is hard to say if Moldova will be further supported on the European integration path,” it is said in the communique.
The Republican Party underlines the necessity of preserving correctness, strictly observing the legislation and avoiding dubious actions that might be interpreted as pressure. It calls on the Moldovan politicians to respect the civilized rules of the political processes and not to deviate from the generally recognized electoral competition norms.
