Representatives of trade unions, civil society and employers will be allowed to take part in the meetings of the Government. Only the mass media will not have access to them, Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim said after the executive’s July 3 meeting, IPN reports.
Oleg Efrim stated that specialists and persons invited by the Premier will also attend the meetings. As to the press, the journalists will be able to take pictures before the meeting and to put questions to the ministers after the meeting. The Government’s press service will also provide information.
The informative note to the bill contains examples from other states, where the Government’s meetings are closed as the debates there are considered state secret. “Information about the agenda will be published on the executive’s website,” said Oleg Efrim, adding that the ministers must concentrate on the discussed matters, not on how they look on the camera.
The Cabinet didn’t have questions or objections to the bill, which was put forward by a group of Liberal-Democratic and Democratic MPs.
