Representatives of Moldovan NGOs and local public authorities on fact-finding visit to Ivano-Frankivsk
A group of representatives of NGOs and local public authorities from Moldova (Chisinau), Ukraine (Ivano-Frankivsk) and Romania (Timisoara) paid a fact-finding visit to Ivano-Frankievsk region between April 14 and 18 as part of the project ”Development of Civil Society’s Capacities of Strengthening Partnership with the Local Public Authorities”, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The aim of the visit was to involve the people in decision making, formulation and monitoring of political policies at regional and local levels. The participants in the scientific-practical conference held as part of the visit discussed the forms and methods of consulting the public on the strategies and programs implemented in the economic and social sectors. Several meetings were held in the region’s towns of Yaremcha, Nadvirnoye, and Dolinnoye, where the participants discussed successful projects related to local development and the partnership between the local authorities and the NGO sector. They pointed to the existence of a positive experience in working out and monitoring sector strategies by NGOs.
Representatives of the Chisinau NGOs established cooperation relations with the public organizations and institutions with a view to implementing projects in the area of public management.
The project ”Development of Civil Society’s Capacities of Strengthening Partnership with the Local Public Authorities” is supported by the Open Society Institute through the East-East Program: Partnership Beyond Borders. The project will end with a thematic seminar and a closing conference in Chisinau on May 21-24. It will be attended by representatives of NGOs and central and local governments from Moldova, Ukraine and Romania.
The public association INRECO Conflict Resolution Institute was founded to contribute to the social-economic development of Moldova in the context of territorial reintegration and European integration by implementing programs to develop human resources and solve conflict situations.
