Representatives of the justice ministries of Moldova and Romania will meet two times a year within a forum for justice. The announcement was made by Moldovan Justice Minister Oleg Efrim and his Romanian counterpart Robert Cazanciuc in a press briefing on June 11, IPN reports.
Robert Cazanciuc said the justice sector reform represents a part of the European integration effort and a real integration process takes place only when the judicial system includes well-prepared people who can resist temptations. “Romania has such an experience and knows well that without a modern judicial system, you cannot be an equal partner of the other European states. I think that together we can do important things,” stated the minister.
He also said that the format of the forum for justice envisions holding meetings two times a year. The first will take place between heads of institutions, while the second between experts. “Our intention is to meet in the first half of the year to formulate a common view on things, which can later be put into practice by experts. We want to focus on certain ideas when sitting at a round table so that the institution heads can then cooperate directly,” stressed Robert Cazanciuc.
Oleg Efrim said that the reached agreement will be soon confirmed by signing the relevant documents.
Robert Cazanciuc is in Chisinau on a working visit during June 10-11.
