Three representatives of the Chisinau Municipal Council - Ion Gabura, Pretor of Ciocana district, councillors Oleg Cernei and Mihai Roscovan take part to the General Assembly of the Romanian Municipalities Association (AMR), held in the city of Craiova on March 29-30. The Assembly will focus on discussing strategies and programmes designed for local authorities, opportunities to receive European financing for municipal projects, and legislative priorities for local authorities. Founded in 1991, AMR has worked as an association dedicated to local authorities. Its aim consists in promoting and protecting mutual interests of local public authorities, in order to solve and manage the public needs to the benefit of their local communities. At present, AMR comprises 101 member municipalities, and the 6 sectors of Bucharest Municipality, thus ensuring a high degree of representation. Since 2005, AMR president is Adriean Videanu – General Mayor of Bucharest.
